This week, Jay Leno, one of the most involved car collectors/enthusiasts in America, revealed a new car in his shop, and the story behind the man who created the 1000hp beast. Truly a great story, and kudos for Jay for publically sharing the events that happened in this sadness, because people should know who Paul Annunziata is and see the masterpiece he built. Thanks Jay, and enjoy the vid after the jump!
More »This year's Seal Beach Classic Car Show was full of stunning cars covering many eras in American history. And the guys at BangShift have put up one of the biggest photo albums about a car show I've seen yet! Check it out!
This weekend I got a chance to ride in a 2011 Toyota Highlander Hybrid, and I have to say I'm impressed. Around my neighborhood, I am a well-known Prius hater, because of what they do to bikers (flatten them) and because of the vibe that sometimes surrounds the owners, which appears to be an expression of environmentalist nirvana. But this weekend my view of hybrids changed. I liked the Highlander not from a standpoint of mph through the slalom, not 0-60, not even overall looks, but instead passenger comfort.
More »This past Sunday was the annual Fabulous Fords Forever car show at Knott's Berry Farm, and boy was there a turnout. There was everything from Mustangs to Continentals to hot rods to originals to, well, you get the point. This year's show not only showcased quantity, but also quality, with unique Fords around every corner. Their was honestly something there for everyone, from new to old. Here's a few of the best! Enjoy!
More »Bad technology or good technology? First let me say this is not a political article as much as it is a political act that could dramatically affect auto enthusiasts. Aside from the hardly useful information that these black boxes are going to be obtaining, such as g force or moment of impact, etc. that could be used to figure out exact details of collisions, they are allowing the government to diminish individual freedom in America. We already have lunch inspectors at an elementary school on the east coast, we have traffic cameras (robots for policemen), and Supreme-Court approved strip-searching of people arrested for minor crimes. When will people in this country (ahem White House/legislature) learn that is better for people to think for themselves than to have the government do it for us? Black boxes in people's cars? Recording every data piece in the car at any given moment, and it's accessible by the government? Are you serious? How many rights are we going to give up before we realize what is happening? What happened to good old America where people paid attention to their driving, weren't on their phones, and there weren't major issues over whose fault it was when a car crashed (ahem Toyota accusers). In my opinion, this is too far, government can already listen to our phone lines, and they are about to be able to stalk us every place we go and every turn of our steering wheel. Hit the jump for more.
