Times must've changed a little bit since I was in highschool, because I would've felt like a total tool rolling up to senior prom in something like this. On the other hand: a 7.2 Caterpillar diesel with 900 ft-lbs torque could admittedly come in handy for certain prom-night shennanigans. The limo is for sale on DuPont Registry for $188,000. What do you think: good investment?

Minitruck campers used to be a much more common sight than they are now. Maybe it's because people are just getting bigger. This Toyota Chinook camper appears to be in awesome shape, with everything working and only 5,500 miles on the 20R motor. And as RVs go, you sure can't beat the gas mileage! Check out the listing on Sacramento Craigslist.

This badass Caddy started life as a 2004 Chevy Silverado dually and was built to be the push vehicle for Spectre’s land speed racers at Bonneville. It's powered by a 500 cubic inch Caddy big block with a pair of Garrett turbochargers pushing 1,425 horsepower and 1,671 foot pounds of torque. Full story at Speedhunters!

This is more than just a fusty-old-man take on the awesome J-12 concept (the author only made it a page and a half in before being compelled to exclaim, "Good God, man!"—oh well)—the fusty old man, I realized about halfway through the article, is indeed the J-12's target audience. The entire concept was designed with the express purpose, according to design chief Kyle Evans, of evoking "Grandpa's fishing truck," complete with the period-correct tailgate lettering and that adorable plaid-trimmed interior. And the author concurs, being in the J-12 "is a bit like returning to a cottage you haven’t visited in a decade or so: vaguely familiar and welcoming, except the cottage also would smell like tackle boxes and moldy life vests." Well before we all nod off over our rum toddies, definitely give the article a whirl. While it's unclear whether Car and Driver actually ever drove the thing, there's some neat backstory on its design and creation. Via Car and Driver.

Had to have seen this one coming, right? After JAC's imitation F150 failed to show at the Beijing Auto Show last month, eyebrows were raised. And as it turns out, yes, Ford moved to protect its brand image from the damage that a cheap Chinese imitation would certainly have inflicted. Nice try, JAC! Next time around, if you're going to produce a garbagey pirated version of some other company's vehicle, probably best not to pick the world's most recognizable pickup. Via Carscoop.

Ok, so you live someplace where you get good snow, but don't want the hassle of switching to snow tires every year when the mercury goes south. Especially if you're only going to need snow tires 20% of the time. Well this might be the best possible addition to your arsenal of go-anywhere bad weather accessories. Though they look like they may still be in the development stage, these tracks are revolutionary in that they snap right onto your existing wheels. Easy as tire chains: just drive up onto these treads and you're set to go! Imagine the heads that would spin when you're out in the wilderness passing your snowmobiling buddes. Well I'm sure there's some terrain they can't tackle, but you get the idea. Hit the jump to see the video!

Back in the 70s, American Motors kicked around the idea of producing a Jeep-branded ute based on their Gremlin compact. Would that have been cool or what? Unfortunately the Grem-camino never made it past the auto-show concept stage. Neither did the AMC-Hornet-based Cowboy, of which a single prototype theoretically still exists. Not much info out there on either of these concepts, and the Cowboy seems to have last surfaced in 2009. See it below the jump!

This was one of those moments where you wonder how deep are the ruts that someone's 44" boggers left hidden under the mud. Fortunately the skinny pedal hit the matt and the Ranger bounced through unscathed!
