When my mom found out I had a Fiat 500 Abarth for the weekend, she drove her new Gucci edition down from Vancouver so they could play. We spent the weekend mostly tooling around in the Abarth, redlining, front-wheel peeling, teasing Mini Coopers, and even once smoking a Lexus SC400. I also took her to Griot's Garage in Tacoma, which she'd been bugging me to do, to set her up with some premium car care potions and lotions to keep her slick new 500 shiny.

How about you? What did you do this weekend?

Power-slides, burnouts and some general information are the three main components of any good automotive video. Add to that some wonderful cars and presenter who can really drive and well, so much the better. Tiff Needell has been around for quite some time and has just recently joined the ranks over at EVO Magazine. His first task? Pit the 2012 Nissan GT-R against Porsche’s new 2012 911 Carrera S. One thing to notice during this video is how Tiff’s attitude and demeanor change when he goes from showboating to really setting a fast lap. Click through for the video.

I just finished the second video entry for the build up of my Viper-powered FORDGE Maverick. The first video documented when I brought the car home from storage, and for many reasons, never got farther on it. Then my friend and mentor Mike Fennel offered me a spot in his shop and I jumped at the opportunity. With the help of my good friend Jamey Smith, who has built and restored dozens of cars (including several 69 Dodge Charger General Lees), we loaded the Maverick on a trailer and cleared a spot for it at Mike's.

Is this custom Toyota Corolla total rice, or is it actually nice? Take a close look and you'll see it just might be a little of both. While the quality of installation and care of vehicle is obvious, the builder's choice in modifications may be considered vile by some automotive enthusiasts. Do fake fender vents and an aluminum wing automatically qualify you as a ricer? Comment below.

I'd always been curious about the Kia Soul, which I feel is the best-looking of the three "My Little Pony" SUV's, the group that include the Nissan Cube and the Scion xB. So I was looking forward to driving one. But would it have anything to offer besides its cute-as-a-button demeanor? As it turns out, if you want a baby SUV but don't have any money, the Soul is an option worth investigating.

Have you ever been surrounded by over a thousand classic American cars without actually being in the Land Of The Free? Well this weekend would have been your perfect opportunity to take in such a sight if you had attended the Shannons American Motoring Show held on the affluent grounds of Flemington Racecourse. More images of this event below the jump, and see the complete gallery here.

Hotrodder84 has beautifully documented his Monte Carlo's build with a ton of great pics from each step of the way. He's done some nice upgrades on the stock 305, but has a 355 in the works that'll soon be ready to go in. Still, what I love about this page is this shot of the Monte in its natural habitat.
