It is no secret that China is an economic power house. The Chinese people have plenty of disposable income and are buying more cars than ever. This explains why so many car makers are keen to get into the Chinese market. Detroit electric is no different and have joined with Geely to release an electric car there next year. This is a joint venture and should produce some interesting results. Get the full story at Gizmag.

The winner of this week's caption contest is 74Furyous with his entry of:

"On this week's episode of Top Gear USA, the boys are each given $1500 to buy a car and use it to transport a week's work of hate mail from Las Vegas to El Paso."

Check back tomorrow for the next Caption Contest photo!

Well, this is just awkward. What are some of the most unusual mods you’ve ever seen on a car?

If you have sold a few cars like I have, you will know that sometimes the hardest part is making your car stand out from the crowd. Well I think we could all learn a thing or two from the seller of this Brumby. The ad grabs your attention by talking about outstanding items, like the 2 thrones that are upholstered with Albino Panda fur. He has done such a good job that this has gone viral.

If you haven't seen it, check it out on gumtree.

I am guessing that most people that visit this site have done a burnout at some stage. However like any 'sport' you can always learn something from the pros. Check out the video after the jump to see how it's really done. Thanks to NineMSN & Street Machine

Recently, I wrote about my favorite game Interstate 76. Well, much to my surprise, it appears that they released some die cast models to celebrate the game. I came across this little beauty on E-bay. The interesting thing is that Taurus drives a land yacht in the game and not a Camaro. Guess it was a rights issue of some sort. It reminds me of a cheap fake knock off, but I still love it.

Got any tool car toys in your collection?

I love E-bay, every week it just delivers the goods with strange and wacky vehicles. Case in point is this Rat Rod that is currently listed. The motor you see in the rear is fully functional. That's right: we finally have a truck with easy access to the motor. I have never really been into Rat Rods, but I like this because it is different. It's not the first rear engined truck that I have seen, but it is the first Rat Rod of its type that I have come across. Check out the listing for more pics and information.

So what do you think? Is this cool or isn't it?

Okay, we’ve all seen it. Lamborghini revealed their Egoista Concept car on May 12th. The vehicle is getting a lot of attention from fans and foes. What do YOU think of it?

The other day, I had to install a new starter motor in the Valiant. Luckily it is a fairly easy installation, as it is only held on by two bolts and can be accessed from the top of the car rather than having to crawl underneath. To undo the bolts, I pulled out my trusty 39 piece socket set. Now this is no ordinary socket set: I have owned it for 33 years! My grandfather gave it to me when I was 12. It is a simple entry level socket set that he picked up at K-Mart. However when he gave it to me, I thought it was the greatest tool ever invented. I can remember tearing my bikes apart and rebuilding them just to use it. Over the years, I have built up a fairly decent collection of tools, however, if I could only keep one this would be it. So what tool would you never give up?

Who would have guessed? If you see a make/model that got 5 stars from a well-established Automaker, wouldn't you assume if you bought that same car elsewhere overseas, you would get one similarly as safe?

It would seem to be common sense, but so much for all of that. This is the Real World and unfortunately, apparently what is built and tested here can be something completely deficient elsewhere.
