Do You Really Like Your Car?

Everyone has reasons as to why they’re drawn to the automobile they drive. For some it comes down to money, for others it’s passion and yet for others it’s the simple fact that their car is an extension of their personality. Remember that buying a car is an emotional decision, not a rational one which means that regardless if you buy a base Kia or the top of the line Ferrari, your emotions, in one way or another lead you to that decision. Personally, I look at cars everyday and am constantly thinking of what I’ll purchase next. Now granted, most of my thoughts are pipe dreams, but that doesn’t change the fact if your car doesn’t resonate with you on an internal level, well then, there’s probably something wrong with you.

I love all my cars and trucks. I covet a lot more of them, but I already have 8 and don't have much more room. I need to start on that second barn.

Hell yeah! I love my rides and am very proud of em. I'm a lean guy with small cars, but like me, they're much faster and more powerful than they look.

Yes I do really like my car otherwise I wouldn't have traveled as far as I did to get it.

My 03 Cavalier was basic reliable transportation. It never let me down but an attachmentt? Nope. It was cheap to buy and maintain, that was it.

I've always loved Mustangs and always had one. Although my 96 Impala SS was pretty sweet. I miss my S-10 too.

I've made a lot of stupid emotional vehicle purchases in my time. The '84 Sierra that I paid $1700 for and put another $2200 into it just to get it on the road, the '90 YJ that I bought for $2500 and didn't realize the frame was rotted .. yikes. I've had vehicles that were just transportation (my Tercel and my Accord) but I can truly say I love what I drive now and it's definitely an extension of my personality. My '89 IROC does a couple of things (go fast and look good) very well, but has a tonne of other detractors (much like myself). So I see my car as sort of me ..in vehicle form. Gotta love it.

I like all three of my vehicles but its because they do what I need them too do. My Neon is cheap and comfortable for the size and gets great fuel mileage, my truck has never let me down offroad or towing and hauling, and my 40 ford is the car I decided to build part by part. I think the only car I didnt like I have owned was a 91 Chevy S10 Blazer and it was because it didn't do anything well, it was a joke offroad, I hated the power-band and it was soft.

I took my XJ to the mountains and fell in love with it all over again. I haven't had the time to get to love (or hate) my Z yet.

I have 3 Chevy Tracker 4x4s that I love. Can't explain it. Maybe it's because they've each got more than 150,000 miles and they're still on the original factory plugs, exhaust, and Delco battery. Parts are dirt cheap, and they still pass the smog test. What's not to like?

all I can say is I liked most of my rides, loved some, tolerated a few and hated virtually everything about a late '90s Malibu, which was dragged onto a flatbed and taken away on its axles because I wanted the aftermarket rims. I liked my 3 XJ's, Loved the 3 Firebirds and Camaro and the '00 Eclipse GT turned out to be an all around great ride for daily commuting.

"You are what you drive" So true:-) I drive the old forgotten, unappreciated cars, and I'm always pulling for the underdog!

I absolutely see myself in my rides. They are an extension of my personality to a tee; My Ranger has a custom paint job that I know no one else has, it's reliable and does what I need it to. My Nova in and of itself needs a little work, but is worth the effort, and I have huge plans for it.
