Victory for Leadfoots: Lady Sues Honda For Insight's Poor MPG's

Heather Peters wasn't getting anywhere near the 50 mpg Honda had promised she'd get out of her new Insight, so she did what any red-blooded American would do: she took them to court. And the $9867 small-claims judgment she won doesn't bode well for Honda, in light of the number of vehicles in the field that are likely yielding disappointing mileage numbers for their owners. So, does this mean I get to take Ford to task over the wild claims they made about the diesel Escort back in the day? Via Jalopnik.

Maybe those owners of the Ford Raptors should sue Ford after dealerships not wanting to take warranty for their frames bending in the middle from doing what Ford said they could do, off-road at high speeds (which I know they're still good at).

I'd give her the win just for going to court in a suit made out of '70s lamp shade material!

Isn't that a Honda Civic? It looks identical to the '06 Civic I had. The mpg sucked and it chewed holes in my rear tires do to some manufacturer defect that they wouldn't warranty but wanted 10,000 to repair it. Pos car.

maybe i should sue Jeep. they told me that if i bought a brand new wrangler rubicon and took off the doors and roof off in the summer, then the ladies would take off their clothes for me.... I've been looking at the same old busted t*tties for the last 4 and a half years now!

I am surprised she won also because it says in the commercials it is, "estimated MPG, not actual MPG." The attorney that went to bat for Honda was obviously absent at Law school.

But, hell yeah, more props to her for doing something that many people wouldn't.
