Who would have guessed? If you see a make/model that got 5 stars from a well-established Automaker, wouldn't you assume if you bought that same car elsewhere overseas, you would get one similarly as safe? Parents bringing home that new Grocery Getter deserve to buy something their family won't die in... and for Brazilians, it looks like improvements won't be coming until 2015, also until they ditch their death traps, which in terms of family incomes and economics... could push their move to safety or even survivability back even further... Brazil doesn't have an established equivalent to the NHTSA for evaluating new or existing models... so why for the sake of Humanity don't these cars conform to IIHS standards at least? If a model has been tested in one country that has such regulations, why at least not market the same model elsewhere where no such regulations exist? Via Yahoo.
