Badass!

Now thats a "real" Hummer...covered in dirt and not a spec of chrome anywhere.

I so wanted to own one of those.

I could definitely put an H1 to work. H2's and H3's are a joke.

This reminds me of the time the ROTC supply officer let me borrow one of the military H1's that they had for the cadets to train with. It was winter and I took if for a ride in the fields out back at work. The military versions are awesome. I was able to do some extreme hill climbing with the almost nonexistant front and rear overhangs. The embarrassing part was when I high-centered the rig trying to cross over a raised gravel road! I literally had the truck set on it's frame right under the doors, front tires about a 1ft off the ground and the rears about 3 ft off the ground. The H1 was just idling there with all four wheels spinning in the air. Luckily I was with someone and we were able to bounce the rearend up and down enough where the front tires would bounce down and hit the ground and eventually it dragged itself off the ridge. It was like a giant Hummer teeter-tauter! Unfortunately this was back in '03 when I didn't carry a digital camera around at work and my cell phone didn't have one either. No damage was evident after the accident and I prompty returned the Hummer before I did anything worse to it! It was an awesome vehicle and I would drive a military version of one for a DD in a heartbeat.
