That was a hell of a fall! I'm suprised he wasn't killed by his stupidity. It said he only had minor injuries, that says alot of the safety features in the car.

I'd say it's more ignorance than stupidity. A lot of Euro cars have the reverse where the 1st gear should be. Probably just got the car and wasn't used to it.

He was lucky he landed backwards, or he'd be toast. 3rd story fall is around 120km/h when you hit. Possibly the lower level awning also helped slow the fall, mind you it looked in good nick, considering the fall it took.

Thought he was in reverse? It does not follow man. Whether in reverse or first gear, this wouldn't happen if the idiot didn't ram the wall with a considerable momentum. If he took it easy on the accelerator, the wall would have just cracked. But yeah, there should be a higher building code for parking lots to keep people like this from endangering others.

It's in Switzerland. Watch the plates of the scooters. They show the swiss flag (white cross on red background). the "TI" on the plate means Ticino, a state in the very south east of Switzerland (italian part of Switzerland).

This is actually not a big surprise to me. Obviously the guy has no clue how to drive and should have never bought a stick shift, but the 6 Speed Manual Transmission that comes in the new Mustang has a safety feature to keep it from accidently going into reverse. From neutral you have to push the shifter down (into the box) and then downward and left (as in relative direction) before moving the stick up. If you're still pretty new to the car it's easy to end up in first.

Not to mention, me & my buddies living room forts - made of dual couchbacks, cardboard and frickin couch cushions - were more durably fortified than that plywood-sided garage, which was clearly held together by standard staples.
