A little too 350Z/Eclipse. If it does happen, I just hope Toyota gets away from the pudgy with fake scoops look. Form must follow function.

yeah, the problem with it is that it won't look like that in real life. I'm really not excited about any Toyota anymore.

It's a cool concept but thats just it, a concept. And @74furious, my alltrac hood scoop is for the stock top mount intercooler (like a Subaru), my mr2 side scoops go to the mid engine bay (like a Ferrari), and the supras side scoops cool the brakes. There all very functional unlike mustang scoops, which air can't even go through cuz there solid plastic =P

@tazgts - scoops that work - I'm all for. One of my big disappointments with Toyota was the hood scoop on the Tacoma - fake. I used to love Toyotas, I still have my 84 Celica but I find the newer ones just look bloated and fat.

Front end looks well done, simular to the 350Z, buy 2014people might get tired of that look, and the car would look old school. The sides and rear are well designed. Overall I like it, yes I would drive it.

Looks too similar to the Nissan, They need to make it either a updated version of the 3rd gen, or at least get it's own styling.

Did anyone at all read that this is a rendering NOT done by Toyota? "So someone from their [Speedhunters] creative department rendered up a possible 2014 offering." Hilarious. Toyota copied Chebby? Orly? Funny, they must have screwed it up real good since GM had to rob the American taxpayer and liquidate Saturn, Pontiac and Oldsmobile in recent years just to stay in business. Meanwhile, Toyota is prospering. Weird, huh?

They need to just cahnge the styling of the last supra to make it up to date but not overboard and use a 2JZ! Is someone formerly employed by Nissan working for Toyota?

looks like a wanna be 370Z mixed with a GTR and an LFA...as a new car salesman (i dont primarily sell Toyota's, but i do have the ability to sell Toyota's) word has come out that in America there will never be another Performance based Toyota produced. thus if a new Supra were to be released in Japan, if and when it was shipped to the states it would be badged as a Scion, the Young and fearless performance junkie side of Toyota...

Well the main similarity to the 350Z is the front bumper and center placed cockpit. And the 350Z wasn't really true to the classic Z styling like the 370Z is (with the long hood and cockpit just in front of the rear axles). The 350Z looked more to me like a hopped up new beetle (center cockpit with a bubble shape) when it came out. I agree with several of the guys that it looks very simillar to the Lexus LFA. This 'supra' will probably be the sustainable version of the LFA sold under Toyota's badge. I do hope some of the engineering from the LFA is passed on to the next gen supra... However only time will tell what direction Toyota/Lexus takes this new car, and what price point it will be sold at (I would anticipate something inbetween the 370Z and GTR) It really depends how Toyota/Lexus wants to define it's rivals for the new Supra.

This is crap. I love the 92 to 98 supras. I eventually plan on having one. To make a supra look like a 350 or 370z is just embarrassing and a disgrace to all the supra lovers in the world like me.

I like the over all idea, My brother in-law had a 1982 Celica that was one option away from being a Supra but I started to not like them as much when they dropped the Supra and the Celica's were made into front wheel drive. This one has a lot of interesting lines and it is easy enough to say that one design can look like another but think that there are more similarities to the Bugatti Veyron or the Audi R8 then just the 370 Z. What I don't like about this car is the roof line around the door glass. It looks like a huge triangle, I don't know how hard it would be to even get into it. The body line from the top of the fender to me should be a straight line meeting the top of the quarter panel. I never liked it when Toyota started this design with their Camry with the same hump in the tops of the fenders. To me it looks like they forgot to design some fenders for the car and just threw something on from the parts bin, which by the way Nissan copied later and now Mazda is doing it.

It's sad that toyota is taking a car that once had a very distinguished look and copied the 370z and is calling it their own. If they wanted to copy a car why not try something a little more worth while like the gtr.

I don't like the new Toyota's. This is just a stupid concept design, not the actual design model that will hit the streets. Besides no designer will ever design a great looking Supra like the classic.

Read the article, it clearly states that it is someone's concept design, not Toyota's, DUH! Having owned an '82 with an '89 turbo motor I would love to see a retro throwback look but what they really need to do is take the design of the '98 Supra twin turbo and add a little mean to it, that would be great.

I agree it looks like a 350Z. However, if this is what it came out to be, I think it'd be a luke-warm hit. People would buy at first, but most people would wait until it was out dated and buy it when its cheap.

Sexy but a little too much like the Z, also the roof looks funny being all glass, put a body color targa top and a spoiler on it and it'd be ready to go as the new Z but a supra needs to me more.

Love the rear end, how the tail lights wrap across. the front of the car looks low, excellent forward vision. like the side view how the front dives sharper than the 350. the rear looks beefy need to tone that downa few noticable inches. overall a good starting rendering.

Im actually going to disagree with almost everyone saying its like a 350/370. The headlights maybe...but look at a lambo...same basic design. The hood line reminds me of a Mazda rx8 with the humps over the fender area. The opening in the front was already on a supra...this is just enlarged. Its really hard for me to actually see a 350z or 370z tying into this. I think that as a concept this ostensibly fairly reasonable compared to others. And the lines look somewhat decent.

You guys and Girls that have a neutral or dislike for the Supra. Check out the Texas Flying Mile records and I think you will have a whole new preception of the Supra. I was the owner of a 1981 Supra. Although it was severely performance limited at that build level from the factory. In later years it was bumped to a serious perfomer as you will see.
