Growing up as a car fanatic on the Connecticut shoreline, I’ve had the good fortune to see some excellent cars driving around in my brief 22 years of life. One of the most memorable was a Ferrari 250 GTO I saw cruising in downtown Norwalk just this summer, and another was a Mercedes McLaren SLR my girlfriend pointed out to me as it blew by us on the highway. On several occasions I have also seen a yellow Porsche Carrera GT racing around in Fairfield and Westport; I admire the owner for actually driving his several hundred thousand dollar car the way it was designed to be used. I’ve also seen a Ferrari 575 (in red), a few Lamborghini Gallardos and an orange Lamborghini Murcielago (which happened to be pulled over at the time with two cop cars behind it). The Porsche GT3 RS was a memorable sight as it screamed by me on I-95, and in NYC a few years ago I saw a C63 AMG Black, which has one of the best sounding engines I’ve ever heard. On the luxury end of the spectrum, Rolls Royce Phantoms, Maybach 57s (never seen a 62) and Bentley Arnages are infrequent occurrences but they have amazing street presence. The Porsches, Maseratis, Ferraris, Aston Martins, and Bentleys are not all that uncommon in this area also. Despite all of these amazing memories, there are a few cars I have always wanted to see in the wild that I never have. Tops on that list is the Veyron, which is simply a ridiculous car but must be amazing to see. Second is the Mclaren F1, one of which was owned by a guy in my town growing up but I never had the good luck to see him driving it. I would also love to see a Ferrari Enzo and a Maserati MC12, which I think would be hard to miss if one were nearby. How about you all? What are some cars you’ve seen and some cars you’ve always wanted to see?
