Looks cool,very good use of design on this car.Did the same thing to my 69 charger in high school...81.but it was not as good as this,since mine was done by the gym at midnight,just for kicks.Was going to paint it soon,so why not?Got lots of looks and made me veerry paranoid,so it got painted quickly.Again that color scheme works good ,hope it stays as long as you can stand it.

I agree with 95teggsr, waxing may have prevented the problem, but a lawyer isn't going to help with a 7 year old paint job. Props on the new paint. Looks great.

Personally I would've put VW bashing comments all over it! But that paint job is cool, kinda reminds me of Eddi Van Halen's guitar!

This is my car, for those of you wondering the paint failed at 20k miles and started to peel. I garaged the car its whole life, hand washed, and waxed too. There are 500 tornado red R32's in the USA and 200 of them have this clear coat issue. VWOA in the end offered all of us a $2500 voucher for A NEW CAR, and no paint correction. Some have tried to use lawyers, to no avail. A few got a respray from VWOA, Also some have tried to have the car professionally re-cleared just to have the paint start peeling again. A full respray in tornado red from the basecoat is the only real option.. The contaminants in the paint causing the clear to peel are still unknown. I tried to make the best of a bad situation. I use this car for daily driving, as well as the weekend autocross, tarmac hillclimb or track day... Oh and PS.. Cops love this car, and I have been pulled over LESS since the camo paint. ;) PS when I get sick of the Red camo I plan to vinyl wrap it myself, since my company offers vinyl wraps :) Also huge thanks to Benji for his painting skills and DTM Autowerks for helping build and develop my car :) -James T Curtis Partner/Creative Director of World Crush Media Owner/Designer at Projekt Grafik Design Studio
