With the exception of the Ford Raptor, there is not one showroom stock domestic pickup truck that would have stuck a 10-foot high, 80-foot jump off a raked sand dune. That however didn’t stop one bonehead from trying at the Silver Lake sand dunes in Silver Lake, Michigan. Cresting the peak of the dune at what looks to be 60 plus mph in a new 1500 Series Chevrolet Silverado, the pickup truck then proceeds to do a right side nose plant right into the sand and upon impact, mangles the front end. With the front end now toasted and the suspension in shambles, the owner then proceeds to lift the hood and inspect whats left of his beloved Chevy. I have to admit that stupidity like this both amuses and confuses me. I mean who in their right mind thinks that launching a 5,500 lb. truck off an embankment is a good idea? Video after the jump!

By: SouthernGuy8503 6/8/2011 12:22 PM It would work if he had a pre-runner setup. He just better hope the frame didn't bend. |

By: blackspike2710 6/8/2011 1:39 PM Oh yeah, the frame is bent. Not only that, what was that noise after he landed? |

By: JSS-SS 6/8/2011 1:53 PM If he landed all fours his truck would probably still be drivable. |
