GTO Judge Tribute To Be Based on New Camaro
Posted On: 5/11/2011 8:48AM

Though the GTO never shared a common platform with Camaro, there's no reason that modern interpretations of Pontiac's iconic muscle car can't cross-pollenate with Chevy's new all-purpose ponycar. After all, what is there left to build it on, with the G8 long gone? In any case, Trans Am Depot, the builders that did the Firebreather for SEMA 2009, have announced a new project: a modified 2011 Camaro built to resemble the original 1969 Judge. Dubbed the "GT9 Goat," the new beast will feature completely revised front and rear fascias, hood scoops, and rear decklid wing, as well as a stripe package and paint job that amounts to a pretty radical transformation of the stock Camaro's look. We're still waiting to hear on performance upgrades. But aesthetically, what do you think: is it a convincing Judge? Rearview below the jump, via Carscoop.

I find this very ugly, but to each his own

The front end looks alright, but the back needs more work. Give it a stainless steel bumper or something.

Front looks meh, back looks appalling. I would easily take the stock camaro over this. Needs a lot more work.

So maybe it can transform into a robot but nothing else. Enough of these experiments. What's next? A Citation?

Should of done a firebird instead, since the firebird was basically a fancy camaro. But remaking the judge with the camaro body just does not look right. Kill the flares on the wheel wells and have the Rear A pillars flush with the quarters and you might be on to something.

It looks kinda cool, but without a Pontiac powerplant, is it really a Pontiac?

hey cknarf GM had that problem in the late 70's early 80's and it ended up in court. Id buy it if i had a 5th gen camaro and the money. The Company is called Trans Am Depot out of Tallahassee, Florida. They will either buy a camaro or or you supply the camaro and convert it. They also have the lisencing from GM to use Firebird and other names that went along with it. They are the only place to buy the 2011 Hurst Trans Am. check out there website.

could they at least be creative enough to make a new body and not just put a front and rear fascia onto a camaro... looks like a cat in a blender

2 thumbs down, just a modded 'maro, which I dislike anyway. I can appreciate all the work into this 'revision', but it doesn't work for me. I LOVED the whole line of GTO's when they were REALLY GTO's. Ford hit it right on the button with the latest gen Mustang, but GM missed with the Camaro IMHO
