Starting in August, the European-market Panamera will be available with a hopped-up version of Audi's 3.0L diesel V6 that'll get 247 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque, all while theoretically getting 36 mpg combined with the help of fuel-saving technologies including automatic stop-start. Personally I love finding diesel in unexpected places, and think it'd be cool if Porsche were to introduce high-output turbo diesels into some of the smaller and sexier models in its lineup (they've already run this same powerplant in the Cayenne, though that doesn't exactly count). But a diesel Panamera is a solid start. What do you think: will diesel power make the Panamera more or less uncool? Via Edmunds.

I am amazed in the advancement of diesel engine technology. Diesel engines are even seen in race tracks and could even win (as in Le Mans). So in a sports GT car, that can be cool.
