Do You Think In-Car Electronic Distractions Should Be Limited?

Somewhere in the menus for the fancy in-dash touchscreen on our Buick Regal GS test car, I noticed a utility for uploading and viewing photos. What? Why would you ever have to, or want to, flip through pics while you're trying to drive?? And the video-chat functionality in the photo below is just chilling. Because yeah, that's what I want the dumbass teenager in the hulking SUV next to me to be doing while he's trying to change lanes in traffic. U.S. Transport Secretary Ray LaHood would seem to agree, as he's seeking "voluntary" and self-imposed restrictions on automakers to cut out the dangerously distracting feature-clutter from their in-car infotainment systems. And naturally, the automakers, who are quite attached to the do-dads and have spent a fortune developing and marketing them, are pushing back. Who do you suppose will prevail? To what extent should distracting touchscreen gagetry be regulated, and how far should they go in enforcing it? Full story at Carscoop.

Could it be that they've actually found a way to improve the coolness of an AT-AT Imperial Walker? I'd say so. I mean, take the best retro bus on the planet and give it legs. What do you have? It’s a well known fact that the majority of Lamborghini owners are more show than go. You see most owners like the idea of owning one, but rarely, if ever abuse them for fear that they may actually have to one day pony up some cash for repair bills. Every so often though an owner surfaces through the cracks and proves to the rest of the general public that these cars were actually built for hardcore speed as opposed to just sitting in the parking lot of a Starbucks. Obviously this gentlemen is vastly aware of the “look at me” factor since he pimped his car out with some hideous chrome wheels and that awful two-tone interior. I have to give him props though as he did manage to pull off one of the best burnouts I’ve seen, and that’s regardless of the make. Hopefully he’s got enough spare change left in those sweatpants pockets of his for new tires, because let’s face it, those skins ain’t cheap! 	By: cobaltdriver07 3/31/2011 4:15 PM I think it actually looks pretty good the rims go nice with the car and color and i usually hate chrome myself so for me to say it looks pretty good is saying somethin in my book. I will admit though the interior is a bit excessive but not unbeareable same goes for the wing IMO.
