Damn, this sucks. Good thing the Mopar didn't get t-boned when it got shoved through the intersection. So what would you have done if you owned the Challenger? I'd probably be out of the car and yelling, too. But what if you'd been the person driving the truck? Would you just sit there? Video after the jump!
By: bulldog_1995 3/31/2011 7:54 AM If i owned that challenger I'd be mad as he** but the ford that hit it looks new enough that it would (more than likley) be still owned by the bank and have good ins coverage so my car would be repaired and they would be paying for my rantal till my car was as good as new |
By: oldsmobile1000 3/31/2011 8:16 AM lol i would have pulled his as out of the truk and wooped his as i woudent care if i went to jail a day or two.omg my challenger 392 |
By: DodgeAdict 3/31/2011 8:34 AM If I was the SRT8 392 HEMI Challenger owner/driver, I probably would of pulled my HEMI to the side of the road on the other side of the intersectoin, jumped out run back to the F-150 and start beating the sh*t out of the front of the Ford with my fists and steel toed boots (while cussing out the driver) and if the driver interfered.. he would get the same treatment |
By: SouthernGuy8503 3/31/2011 9:01 AM Well I'd be pissed no matter which driver I was. Challenger driver of course pissed that it got wrecked, truck driver pissed that my truck is wrecked and that I wrecked a nice Challenger. Truck driver I would say "I'm sorry" about a million times until the cops came. |
By: SouthernGuy8503 3/31/2011 9:06 AM Oh and if I was the Challenger driver I wouldn't start fighting, I don't care what it was. Reason is because no wreck is worth a trip to jail and charges, if it was so bad that someone got seriously hurt you're thinking about their condition over trying to fight. |
By: bulldog_1995 3/31/2011 10:14 AM after watching the vid agian it looks like the lady driving the truck waqs on the phone at the time! people who can't hang up and drive is one of my biggest pet peeves! this is a good example of what can happen. I hope tha passanger didn't get hurt as she/he was thrown into the seat pretty hard and they also didn't have a seatbelt on! In the end it's (hopefully) nothing but sheetmetal damage it's not worth going to jail over they make over 2000 of these cars a day |
By: TDWPgtp 3/31/2011 12:26 PM why get pissed? thats what insurance is for. get it fixed. now if it was custom, or a car that you had owned for a while and it meant alot to you, then i could see getting pissed. but if my new car got in a minor fenderbender, who cares |
By: cknarf 3/31/2011 12:43 PM I wouldn't have hit the challenger. I'm coordinated. |
By: chewzer 3/31/2011 2:42 PM Way to steal the show...Damn. |
By: SuperSilvi 3/31/2011 3:05 PM My worst fear |
By: Karpinski291 3/31/2011 3:51 PM of course, it was a female..... |
By: 74Furyous 3/31/2011 3:52 PM the video will come in handy. Don't get mad, just sue her ass. |
By: ___nes___ 3/31/2011 4:19 PM Female or not the problem is that the driver wasn't paying attention to the road because of the retarded phone! I wouldn't get in a fight because at the end of the day is a car and it can be replaced, limited edition or not, but I would let her have a piece of my mind. |
By: Pimped-up 3/31/2011 6:45 PM That's why you gotta watch the rear view mirror, there are idiots on the road, what do you expect!? Over the past 7 years, I had two similar situations, one time I just blew it through the red light and the second time I just got on the side of the highway and the guy just smashed the civic which was in front of me, my "Z" would have been owned! ... But it's sux to see this shit happened to that challenger. |
By: mazmac24 3/31/2011 6:54 PM well think about this.. would YOU buy a challenger with a accident history? that's what i though... car is worthless now.. on to the next one |
By: autodesign 3/31/2011 7:48 PM Kind of disturbing seeing the guy beeing throwed in the car... it happened to me. I had a Daytona almost the same blue as the Challenger, it reminds me that awful memory... :( |
By: JTC180 3/31/2011 7:50 PM I would probably be in shock. |
By: kuzster69 3/31/2011 8:24 PM hahahaha that looks right, a dodge taking it up the ass by a ford |
By: FuryPaul 3/31/2011 8:57 PM I flinched at the impact when I watched the video. Considering that Challenger is maybe six weeks old, I think if I was the driver I'd be livid and if I was in the truck (note that I said "in," not "driving"!) I'd dial 911 and keep the windows up and doors locked until the cops arrived. My '86 Charger--my first brand-new car, 25 years ago--got rear-ended at a light while the temporary tag was still on it! Barely got a scratch, though. Fortunately it was a low-speed impact. My '91 Daytona, which I just took off the road last weekend, got hit just ahead of the left front wheel by a guy running a light in a Mercury Topaz when I'd had it just short of eight months. I'm kinda wondering who's gonna hurt my '11 Charger and when... |
By: ___nes___ 3/31/2011 9:33 PM mazmac that's why they have, or should have, insurance. When things like this happen insurance will either get you a new car, hopefully the same one, or if the damage is not that bad fix it. |
By: TDWPgtp 3/31/2011 10:20 PM not to mention it looked like it will only need a new bumper, tailights, and maybe trunk lid. it really didnt look that bad at all |
By: 04NEONSE 4/1/2011 5:40 AM i am against the death penalty...or at least i was. lol jk but this is a horrible horrendous crime |
By: amxpress 4/1/2011 5:46 AM Great video! Should have hung around to finish shooting the guy in the Dodge, it would be interesting to see his reaction after the initial shock wore off. Can you spell whip lash? |
By: hsmarlon 4/1/2011 5:52 AM I would have claimed whipped-lashed got pay and then got my car fixed at the same time. Guy's be smart not dumb, by peeling someones head don't do nothing but bring you more battles to conquer, like you getting sued for assault, you going to jail, and legal cost. Not worth it. |
By: 23ArtMustang 4/1/2011 6:15 AM Looks like distracted driving to me. The Challenger was lucky he wasn't nailed by crossing traffic. |
By: ipinkoutz 4/1/2011 6:20 AM I probably wouldn't do anything because if I had enough money to buy a Challenger srt8 392 then I would have enough money to either fix it or buy a new one |
By: rebsmiester 4/1/2011 6:23 AM Great Video evidence. Just keep cool and use it to sue the truck driver till it hurts. |
By: ofivestang 4/1/2011 6:36 AM That's the quickest jump off the line that Charger will ever do! |
By: RamaStang 4/1/2011 6:55 AM may in part be the challengers fault, when you come to a stop should you not have your brakes on? when the challenger got hit, the wheels freely moved, they didnt skid like the should of if the brakes were on. f150 should have still had their head out of their a$$ before getting behind the wheel |
By: Govna47 4/1/2011 6:59 AM Good thing there wasn't any major cross traffic at the intersection as well to make a bad day worse... |
By: sonic77 4/1/2011 7:01 AM The guy in the ford pickup was clearly at fault. Though when it comes to challengers....the old ones are awesome the new ones suck ass. The new challenger doesnt have any style and doesnt remind me much of the old one. Plus its overpriced like most dodge products. I saw a bumper sticker on the back of a Chevrolet Avalanche....."You can't Dodge an Avalanche". So very true. Dodge sucks |
By: timhansen 4/1/2011 7:04 AM Thats the kind of idiots we got out there driving on our streets and they don't give a damm what they do and don't care cause its not there hard work that bought the car! I know from experience people don't care at all! |
By: INTIMITATOR 4/1/2011 7:06 AM This stupid accident was predictable. The F150 driver was probably distracted by the car who was capturing image of the Challenger. Sorry if I upset some of you, but the road is not a playground. There is plenty of way to close course these kind of movie or demonstration. I'm working in the traffic control business and you can be sure that there is already plenty of distraction available to create accident. |
By: sonic77 4/1/2011 7:18 AM I would thank him for wrecking that ugly car so I can buy something better like a camaro. Or a Cobalt. As you can see though the challenger comes to a complete stop if you look at the wheels. Then when it moves its only because it was hit then the challenger driver lets go of the brake pedal and accelerates which again is illegal. Both are idiots. |
By: JDMFEVER 4/1/2011 7:19 AM I would've thanked him and went shopping for a german or japanese car. |
By: haddytech 4/1/2011 7:20 AM Dumb girl. |
By: OutskirtsCustoms 4/1/2011 7:22 AM This is why I drive a real truck, mine would have run over the challenger like a speed bump. and not scratch the bumper. 1966 International Harvester 1200 series Camper Special. Now THAT'S a TRUCK! |
By: Beach-Jeep 4/1/2011 7:40 AM Where the hell was the air bag!? |
By: Protuner06 4/1/2011 7:53 AM Who cares? Both are American piece of shit's. American cars now-a-days are as reliable as the idiots that drive them. Import > Unreliable/Ugly American |
By: colinzapalac 4/1/2011 7:56 AM Challenger driver was sitting there in neutral...that's why the car shot off into the intersection. I got reared by a Cobra last summer only moved my truck forward about 4in. Totaled the stang, bout $150 worth of damage to my F150. Even the weight difference doesn't account for the car shooting off had the driver had his foot on the brakes. The F150 driver was probably looking for brake lights and not traffic lights. |
By: APvelle 4/1/2011 7:57 AM lol first of all I'm not surprised the Charger was rear ended by some jack off in a huge truck considering people in large trucks drive with no respect for others like they own the road, and it was a ford to make matters worse. And as for protuner hes probably a lil wayne lover and forgets the fact hes white and most likely drives a honda...with a wing lmao |
By: BajanBoi 4/1/2011 8:15 AM Looks to me like the Ford driver wasn't paying attention.......as usual. |
By: ourplace228 4/1/2011 8:24 AM Wh(*(%(&$th *^#&*^$F**(()!!! I would have probably ran back to the truck and immediately started to perform CPR on the driver! A little preventative action with a couple of heart punches because he is sure to be unconscious soon and unable to breathe!! The Good Samaritan Act should cover my mistaken actions. If not there's always temporary insanity!! |
By: soccer2knights 4/1/2011 9:04 AM Actually the charger being in nuetral probably saved the vehicle from alot of damage. Right or wrong, the vehicle was able to transfer the energy of the impact into forward motion. If the brakes would have been held, i figure it woulda been smashed up worse. Either way...thats why we all pay for insurance. I agree with APvelle....protuner just has his head up his ass. |
By: TheSnakeOiler 4/1/2011 9:23 AM I would be hollering out the name if my girlfriend; Sue, as in I'm gonna Sue your ass for all I can get! All vehicles should have a 900 MHz jammer built into them when the car is in gear to prevent this from happening. Even they guy with the cam was lucky she didn't also plow right into them. |
By: computerpilot 4/1/2011 9:31 AM I would leave in an ambulance and a neck brace and buy a viper with the $$$. probably on their damn phone |
By: gocruzin 4/1/2011 9:40 AM Well honest to God people... this actually happened to me in my new 2007 Sublime Daytona Charger a couple years ago (BAD MEMORY). I was hit at, no less than, a huge Cruise-in in North Carolina... in stop and go traffic, at around 10mph in a line of cars creeping along. The vehicle that hit me was a sh*tty , primer, rusted 1980's Suburban with a lift kit and a tow wench on the front. It drove the wench right into my deck lid (bingo!) (How do you not see a glowing lime green car right in front of you?). The 19 year old girl driving gets out with her greasy looking boyfriend and the first thing that comes out of her mouth was.... "did it do any damage?!" YES... that was it! When my wife asked her, what are you looking at?! What do you think?! Her boyfriend lit into my wife saying ease up lady it's just a car! I was numb......She claimed the brakes failed Hahhahahahahaha yeah right! (more on that later). When the guy said to my wife it 's just a car, I thought those two were going to die right there. The crowd that gathered, were all car people, and they knew my car was a numbered limited edition car and that the girl was texting when it happened! The verbal abuse was starting to escalate when the cops arrived. When we drove around the corner to write up the report I arrived first. then the cop... then at a "fast" rate the Suburban comes wheeling around the corner straight at my passenger side of the car, and comes to an abrupt stop. When the boyfriend gets out, who is now driving, I say to him. I guess those brakes that failed made a miraculous comeback? What can you do. The car even though fixed beyond belief to perfection, will never seem the same. Not to mention a collision repair listed on it's VIN forever. But at least her insurance went up for 3 years , I'm sure, after almost $2600 worth on deck lid damage was done. The Blackout graphics on the back was $200 alone! Thank God the tail lights and bumper were untouched. I guess I could have thrown a tantrum, but why go to jail? I just was grateful for all the car people that stood up for me. Bless you all! and I hope none of you EVER have to go through something like this. I'm not even going to mention my extreme distaste for cell phones.... because I know most of you own them... oops I just did! |
By: Katakuna 4/1/2011 10:31 AM Whether or not you wouldn't be attached to the car, or that you hadn't had it long, that guy still paid probably 50 grand for it, and is going to keep paying 50 grand for a car that's probably worth $35,000 now. You're losing $15,000 on a deal, here (this is assuming my guestimation is right). Regardless, though, if it had been me in the Challenger, I would've made sure everyone is okay, then made that son of a bitch piss herself. |
By: BOXCHEVYBOY 4/1/2011 12:49 PM THAT IS WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU BUY THESE PLASTIC CARS THEY ARE SELLING TODAY. A 78 CAPRICE WOULD HAVE JUST BRUSHED THAT DIRT OF ITS SHOULDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
By: breztoy 4/1/2011 3:35 PM I would go to the hospital with a neck injury and call a good lawyer. Then I could buy a 70's Challenger to match! |
By: noonrock 4/1/2011 4:04 PM It's a no brainer!! The person rear-ending the Dodge gets a citation for following too close, gets the bill for the damage, and if the victim plays it smart, will claim whip-lash for enough to buy a 426 hemi Challenger from the seventies. |
By: 99SSCHEVY 4/1/2011 6:02 PM DAMM THAT SUCKS.I WOULD BE SITTING IN JAIL FOR KICKING THE TRUCK RIVERS ASS! THAT NICE NEW CHALLENGER WILL NEVER BE LIKE NEW ANYMORE.CHECK THE CAR FAX.GOOD LUCK BRO WITH FINDING A GOOD BODY SHOP TO GET IT LOOKING CLOSE TO PULLING IT OFF THE LOT. |
By: theflo 4/1/2011 6:47 PM Get the car fix and then SELL IT or trade it back. Dumb itch would have ruined it for me. Car will never ever FEEL just right cause of that. |
By: HRM1982 4/1/2011 6:55 PM another ugly car off the street! |
By: lakeforestmuscle 4/1/2011 7:33 PM Stupid Fucking cunt on a cell phone. I would sue that bitch until she was broke on the fucking street. Challenger may never be the same. Dumb stupid ass bitch on her lame ass cell phone. She'd be paying me the rest of her life, or her Ins. would. |
By: lakeforestmuscle 4/1/2011 7:40 PM Hey HRM1982. Let me guess, you drive a POS white trailer park trash 1982 truck and are jobless bleeding the system loser. Or you own a rice burning fart sounding pos wing displaying honda, or better yet you drive a yuppy BMW eutotrash mobile. American muscle will always kick your ass, no matter what POS car you buy, so give up while you are behind, you jobless street bum. |
By: ___nes___ 4/1/2011 7:42 PM @BOXCHEVYBOY yeah I don't think that would happen exactly http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_ptUrQOMPs&feature=player_embedded |
By: Comrick317 4/2/2011 12:29 AM Wow talk about being pissed off. Love the moron in the truck as he just sits there and does not get out of the truck, what an ass clown. |
By: BLKSXT 4/2/2011 6:07 AM That sucks! I bet the insurance will rape the challenger by refusing to fix it completely. Never fails when it comes to stuff like this where you do noting wrong but stop for a red light. |
By: BigMike3023 4/2/2011 11:46 AM I guess one of the worst things about that kind of collision is that you're getting hit into oncoming traffic. That could have easily been worse if there were traffic coming from the left and t-boned him as well. You can tell that the driver wasn't even on her/his brakes because they were still rolling after the impact. And the driver didn't even get out the truck, wtf!!!! |
By: dolla13 4/2/2011 1:41 PM at least it wasnt a gm |
By: bulldog_1995 4/2/2011 4:22 PM the reason that the driver didn't get out of the truck is becouse she had to finish her call and as for the challenger not having his brakes on, he probably saw the truck comming up fast looked to see the traffic was clear and let off of the brakes to to get outta the way and try to lessen the impact and damage |
By: thecobrahunter 4/2/2011 6:15 PM Hopefully the driver is insured...the sock it to the insurance company! Same thing happened to me. His fukcing insurance company wanted to settle for $1200. Azzholes! Told them I would be getting an attorney. After almost a year, got $12,000. And hey...you can always get their address later on with the court papers! |
By: RareT 4/3/2011 7:13 PM After yelling at the truck driver, I would have remembered my neck hurt bad and needed to see a doctor! Pay-up Bit**! |
By: camaroMN 4/4/2011 10:57 AM OMG I would be so pissed poor car : ( |
By: CHALLENGER-RTA 4/4/2011 4:23 PM I believe a total of 1492 392 Challengers where produced .In 2 different color scheme |
By: CHALLENGER-RTA 4/4/2011 4:26 PM SON OF A BITC! !!! I WANTED ONE OF THEM!!! |
By: jsyaudio 4/7/2011 6:56 PM oucht....... i really dont but somebody need to die... |
By: SARJXXX 4/14/2011 2:13 PM Wow, you guys claiming whiplash and fake injuries are exactly why insurance rapes us all in the ass. I pay over a $900 premium for basic insurance b/c of assclowns like you guys. Thanks. And enjoy your fradually obtained 70's Challenger. Hypothetically of course. |
