2013 Lexus GS "Super Sedan" to Compete with M5?

For some time now rumors have been flying that Toyota approved production of a future GS model to obliterate such notorious competition as the BMW M5 and Audi RS6. More recent blogs point to Lexus going after this goal so intently that they intend to drop a somewhat de-tuned version LFA's 5.0 liter V-10 into a more aggressively styled body. No confirmation of an AWD option offered via current GS. One would think it will be RWD to mitigate cost to start with, but being partial to AWD myself, I would hope they at least consider the option. What do you think?

I think I'd rather spend $50k on a sports car and $50k on a luxury sedan than spend $100k on a sporty luxury sedan.

ditto. i'm still not sure about the whole 4-door supercar thing (Panamera ,wtf?). i mean are your really going to put 4 people into your car and then go racing around back roads? do you really want to race someone off the light when your car is packed with people anyway? granted, i myself run a modified 4-door DD but it still cost me a minor fraction of what some of these things run...

It looks like an ISF. I love the ISF, but if I had to pick a sporty 4 door I would go with a CTS-V.

Looks alot like rice to me... You can make a sedan look flashy without putting a gapping hole in the front bumper.

it looks like is-f, because they would apply same idea to the gs. if this happens, it will be called gs-f.

I applaud Lexus effort trying to step in the competitive market. Can't wait to see what they come up with when they become relevant.

What is with that hood? (Bonnet of course for you Brits). It looks shoddy and does not work with the rest of the body's design.

It's easy to tell that they just lifted the designs straight from the isF. I like the isF but on this car it looks terrible. They need to start anew.
