Cobra for SURE. Those things are badass no matter what, even if it is a Factory 5 kit. I'd like a daytona coupe though...

Carroll didn't mention the 850hp twin supercharged 427 Cobra he auctioned off a few years ago. Love to see that thing go up against the Mustang Super Snake.

I'll take the Mustang, only because I know I don't fit in the Cobra.

im sorry, but this test is ridiculous. carroll shelby himself said that the 5.4 engine he put in the cobra was probably the best engine ever made. i would completely agree with that statement. the performance and characteristics of the Cobra 427 roadster were unprecedented. this was a hell of a car. I think that the comparison done here was absolutely absurd. how can you compare a machine like the 2011 Super Snake to a car like the 427? the Cobra 427 is a timeless and classic car. I could not have been any happier when they said that the Cobra had beaten the Super Snake on the road course. A car that is 40 years old beat a car that is being manufactured right now. that is worthy of praise from everybody. Now i want to complain about the "creature comforts." The original Cobra was NOT manufactured to be a comfortable car that you can drive your kids to soccer practice in. It was built to be a BEAST, and that is what it was, and still is. The guy at the end was talking about the "effortless clutch" and it being "un Anyone who has any kind of respect and knowledge about cars would choose the 427 Cobra. It was and is a car worthy of respect. now that i have that off my chest, i can relax and enjoy a beer.

Ok why the hell isn't anyone commenting on a 550 hp lightweight car doing a 12.9 in the qtr?????? WTF????? Did they not equip that car with the right tires or what? I see they put the right ones on the supersnake.

Yeah, it's a publicity stunt for the SS, there's no way that cobra did a 12.9 in the 1/4, watch the race again... it was driving like shit.

yeah, cobra no contest. the look, the sound. you pull up in the snake and it says i have money and i can buy something. The cobra might say i have money, but i can build something. The sound, the look, the true grit of the cobra is what a high performance car should really be made of. If i want creature comforts i'll drive my jeep. If i want to handle, go fast, and actually drive a car, i'm going cobra

The Cobra was faster on what looks like old school high profile tires. Imagine what it would do with the low profile sticky rubber the mustang had on it. Plus it looks like they put a drag tire on the mustang for the drag race. I would rather get a cobra reproduction and build a mopar smallblock or new hemi for it. That would be my ideal car.

The old shelby has badass preformance...rivaling todays cobra. Its just insane. That car is a legend. However if I was driving around I would much prefer the new cobra. It looks amazing and with all the "creature comforts" its perfect. Major respect to both cars, especially for that kind of performance from an old school shelby. So new cobra for me, it will drive nuts anywhere with that V8 Supercharged engine and it will also drive the ladies nuts everywhere.
