What Would Be Your Ultimate Work Vehicle?

If you were going to have the perfect utility truck for all of your projects and heavy-duty activities, what would you get? I've always had a crush on Mercedes' unstoppable 4WD Unimog, and as far as I can tell it's the perfect vehicle for everything that I like to do: car-towing, junkyard runs, Home Depot haulin', stump-pulling, wilderness camping, snow-wheeling, and post-apocalyptic cruising. A tri-tipper-flatbed-equipped 'Mog in CarDomain Orange, like this one for sale on eBay, would handily fit the bill. How about you? What would be your perfect utility vehicle?

1992-2011 Ford E-350 Extended van with Quigley 4x4 conversion and diesel engine option. I like the old 7.3L diesels as they don't make huge horsepower like the new super diesels so they get about 16-18 mpg in stead of 10-12 like the 6.0L or 6.4L. I like the 2008 up noses on the new vans, but not the $35K pricetag (that's for a gas job)! The Quigley conversion is just cool too. Although my 5.4L 1998 extended van does do very good in the snow with it's one wheel peel rearend. The extra weight of the rear overhang makes the van way more capable in the snow than a 2WD pickup. I just hauled a bunch of 16 ft lumber last night and you can almost close the rear doors with the boards sticking out just about a foot over the rear bumper. Makes the ride home a little cold when it's 20F out!

classic Chevy C60 (early-mid 60's model) with a modern Cummings drive train, stretched to a crew cab long bed/flat bed.... http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4075/4784862166_81c6bab641_z.jpg something like that... but with the mod's i mentioned.... why? its classy, powerful and can comfortably seat my family/friends and haul a trailer full of motorcycles or a car...

I have worked in offices from the time I was 19 so my vehicle is a means to get to and from work, not to work. I would think my ultimate work vehicle would be a conversion van or a Buick Lesabre. Something I can nap in and go for lunch runs in. If I was in need of a work vehicle I would say a 2011 Ram Laramie 3500. I could nap in that pretty well in fact.

A Late 80s dodge 3/4 ton with a 318 auto. Not a power house but a solid drivetrain with enough power to drag a project home, bullet proof and cheap to drive compared to some other trucks.

I don't do big projects, a sport utility would do for me. Nothing extravagant, and probably something I've owned before. I've had 3 cherokees and a 99 Durango. I loved them all but I would get another first-gen Durango. It was a good-looking, powerful truck that had plenty of power and handled well (after replacing the stock rims 'n tires). Still got the ridepage up for that one... check it out.

IRONHIDE, the pickup mod ont the gmc ck4500 looks great, has tons of space, and is very rugged. I would love one of them
