Would You Drive It? Bulletnose Ford on a T-Bird Body

The last time I saw one of these it was in person nearly 10 years ago. I was driving on a highway in Maryland and actually took the next exit so I could go back and look at the thing. I love the early-50's Fords, you see, but something about this just looked so... wrong. Like looking at someone's arm that's broken in three places. You'd think that since you can now pick up a mid-90's Thunderbird for like 10 bucks, any kind of a kit based on these cars would've depreciated correspondingly. But nope: a dealer in North Carolina wants $20K for this bulbous ride. Good luck with that! Via CoolPictureGallery.

Not sure about the wheel choice but otherwise it looks pretty cool!

definitely agree w jtc, wheels are awful. this may make a great hotrod mod project, but not for $20k.

I have seen this kit on both a T-Bird and Cougar. The T-bird definitely looks better. I would drive was in a second as my "modern" car. The kit is pretty much bolt on for the front clip and then you have to graft the rear section on (which is fiberglass) so some bodywork and dissimilar material connection there. I think with the new panel bonding adhesives available now the quarters could be bonded on and stay for a long time without cracking through the filler.

put it on air ride, add some baby moon's, and cover the rear tires and I might drive it. The roof line just doesn't look right with it. Maybe bubble that up too.

It looks like a bulldog... I feel the same about this car as NES does about that 69 camaro... kill it with fire!

torino-man.... you read my mind... some 18" baby moons would look sweet... and with the roof chop it and fab up a custom cover for the rear side windows... some how make them blend with the rest of the body mods

When this kit came out about 15 or so years ago I was a kid and I loved it. Now, I don't feel as strongly yet I still think it's awesome.

How can it be right? LOL... it can't. The eye expects to see a windshield angle twice as steep... and it ain't there. Looking at this from the side, it's horrible. Looks like some beer and photoshop were involved.
