What Cars Are Unexpectedly Good In the Snow?

Apparently, the Porsche 914 is a certifiable snow-wheelin' machine. Rob says so, and I've heard it from others as well, though you definitely need some skillz. Conventional wisdom dictates that the best thing for snow is 4wd or AWD, followed closely by a front-drive coupled to a manual trans. But certain cars buck the trend and are unstoppable in the slippery stuff despite all indicators to the contrary. What cars have surprised you? Pic via Jalopnik.

My Grand Marquis seems to do pretty good. Sure with it being a one tire fire RWD it tries to fish tail going over ice patches, but I know to just keep my feet off the pedals and steer when that happens. It hasn't tried to throw me out of my lane, but I think thats just because I know more about driving in the rare snow/ice than other idiot Georgia drivers. Last time that happened here there were SOOO many accidents; on my way home from work I counted 11 cars in the ditch just on my street. One of them was wrapped around a tree :/ JUST DRIVE SLOW, idiots...

I would never expect a Porsche to be a good winter car. That's pretty cool though.

the 2 gen cavalier were prety good in snow , even with cheap tires they would power trough bad road condition , i had one as a winter beater and i could pretty much go wherever i wanted , and i kinda miss the old 2.8 sound some times , haha

'93 Cougar V6 with bald as hell tires. The ass of that car was lighter than a Zippo, but it was the only car that could make it around my driveway without almost fishtailing down the hill.

My only surprise was how bad my black Fiero 2M4 was in the rain.

My Nissan was fun. RWD LSD Winter tires and my only disadvantage was no ground clearance. The Subaru just isnt as fun in the snow.
