What do the New Jersey Nets, banking, medals and hybrid cars have in common? Mikhail Prokhorov. More after the jump...

Mr. Prokhorov, who made his fortune in banking and medals (gold, silver and bronze?) likes basketball enough to have bought the New Jersey Nets. He believes Russia can build "normal cars." Those are his words, not mine.

These seemingly soon-to-be Russian Hybrids will come in three flavors: a sporty model (please don't name it "sporty", Mr. Prokhorov), a sedan and a pickup.

Will the pickup be put down? Will the sedan stand a chance? Will the sporty be... sporty enough? ...or will the Yugo have to move over and make room in that chapter of automotive history? Via CSMonitor

Metals, thanks to the corrupt govt in russia they forced him out of the metal refinery that he co-owned and then the recession hit, not medals which are awards. I would like these if they were bigger. The front end looks dope but still too small for me.

Last time Russia tried to sell a car in the States, it didn't go so well. They are going to have to overcome the Yugo stigma for it to work.
