Gran Turismo 5 is finally here and so far all the reviews I’ve read and heard about seem to say that it’s a take it, or leave it type of game. In comparison Forza Motor Sports III, a game that came out almost 2 years ago, is a definitive “must have”. Obviously GT5 was plagued with delays and obviously the folks at Sony and Polyphony Digital could have used more time for R&D, but when you put the two games up side by side, one has to ask, “what the hell were those guys doing for 3 years?” The above video compares both GT5 and FMS III from a graphics and physics perspective, and to be honest, while GT5 is a “little” better in some instances, it certainly, in my opinion doesn’t warrant all the bullshit that fans have had to put up with. I’ve been following the development of GT5 since the PS3 first came out, and now that I’ve seen it, well… lets just say that I’m happy that I never gave up my XBOX 360. Sorry Sony, better luck next time.

By: SouthernGuy8503 12/7/2010 8:56 AM Well you can't blame the PS3 itself, just the game makers. Has nothing to do with the PS3 system itself. The graphics is of the game, not that it's the best you can get with a PS3 since I've had racing games that had the same or better graphics over 2 years ago. I used to have a PS3 and sold it only because I needed the money, I never had 1 problem with it. It was a lot better than my friend's 360 in pretty much every way. Only upside to having a 360 for awhile was that there were more games for it than the PS3, but kind of makes sense because the 360 was out for awhile longer. But now there's really no upside to having a 360 in my opinion, it boils down to if you're an Xbox person or Playstation person. I also plan on buying another PS3 when I'm able to, all I played on it were racing games. I'm more into the street racing kind of thing (even though I don't like when people do it for real) and GTA kind of games, I guess it's a little more of a challenge to race a few cars on city street with traffic than on a closed track. Something to back up my point is look at the "NASCAR 2011 The Game" trailer, it looks a hell of a lot better with better graphics, movement and so on while I bet it only took a couple of years to make from start to finish... http://nascarthegame.com/ ... I also had the same game for my PS3 that my friend with the 360 had and the graphics were the exact same so it's the game itself, not the system that determines actual graphics. Once they meet a systems top performance and can't get anything better out of it then they'll come out with a new system. |

By: BigMike3023 12/7/2010 12:42 PM I gotta agree with Mike on this one. If you go on YouTube and watch a video of any FM3 game play, you'll get a ton of guys talking crap, saying "FM3 graphics suck! Just wait until GT5 comes out!" for like 2 years! And now that the game's out, there's not even a big difference. I'm an avid Gran Turismo fan, having played the game from GT2 through GT4. But last year, the PS2 was no longer sufficient and I had to decide between the PS3 or the 360. I chose the 360 for the sole basis that I loved playing FM3 on my brother's 360. Frankly, I got tired of waiting. And although I'd love to play the new GT5, I'm more than satisfied with FM3 on my 360. Who doesn't love the realism in that game. No haterism going on here, just wish the guys at Gran Turismo would've got their ish together sooner! |

By: NobiZero 12/7/2010 1:03 PM Honestly, the Top Gear test track is the only thing I think GT5 has on Forza 3. Seeing as how Top Gear let Forza put a few things in with their "ultimate edition," that might change in the near future. |

By: ___nes___ 12/7/2010 4:24 PM Only thing better from my point of view is the graphics of the premium cars. Like the Zonda, the carbon fiber weave effect is a little better. In Forza to see the weave you have to zoom in almost 100% on photomode to see it. But other than that looks dead even, and lets not even talk about the generic engine sounds of GT5. |

By: Mbeezy3405 12/7/2010 4:31 PM Eh, im a PS3 type of guy myself. Ive played the Forza series before and like them all. Ive just grown up playing Gran Turismo so im kind of biased. with anything there are noticeable differences but i will ride or die with Gran Turismo until it reverts back to galaga type graphics. and plus the PS3 free network is a win. |
