Luma Brite Vehicle Wraps

Vehicle wraps are often considered rolling billboards for the commercial market. Yet more car aficionados are changing the exterior of their rides with vehicle wraps as they often cost thousands less than a custom paint job, and you can be revert back to the original paint by simply removing the vinyl wrap.

Often the various car shows I attend will have some type of night glow competition--whoever illuminates the night the brightest with their onboard lights both inside and outside the show car wins!

Well, wraps just went hi tech with the advent a company called Luma Brite that has a new technology that actually illuminates the vehicle wrap at the flick of a button!

This is not reflective vinyl. What you're looking at is within the wrap. I will be using the Luma Brite technology on my new show truck "Valor 1" which will compliment Veteran1 at the various car shows I attend. Will post pics when done.

So "game on" for those hardcore car show fanatics at the next night glow competition!

Damn, I thought LEDs and neons were about to be phased out completely and now there's going to be lighted vinyl wraps. But I guess since wraps (especially these lighted wraps) cost a hell of a lot more than cheap neons and interior LEDs then maybe there won't be nearly that many running around. This lighted vinyl wrap is still something I'd probably laugh at a little or face palm while shaking my head. Just something else to get the cops (I'll hopefully be one) to look at you and pay more attention to you (not always a good thing lol).

May be used for security features and it may be also dangerous in some ways :) I don't really like to have vinyls on me car though. Prefer tohave it sober..

LEDs and Underglow unfortunately will never faze out. There are just to many people who had their lives and sense of style ruined by the Franchise.

I like them but then again I'm not against vinyl either; it's always nice to be able to switch everything back to before in a second. I'd certainly try these out if I was doing car shows...why not? beats putting TV's everywhere. Now, if only the police could put these nice glowy (and seen from very far away XP) to replace the current ones you can't even see, I would gladly entertain the idea :)

LumaBRite electroluminescent lighting is not only stunning to see but it is also the only lighting legal to have on the outside of your vehicle while you are driving

You know where I think this would be awesome to see? On a classic Firebird!! I could just see the screaming eagle coming off the hood when it's pitch black out.

this signs donks=WHYYYY?!!!!! and Mbeezy when I was in Texas some months ago I saw a bunch of swangers of whatever they're called and they were a rolling neon sign, so I'm pretty sure this will be legal.

i think it works like fiber-optics. I think the first layer of vinyl is clear and diffuses light and the second layer is the colors.

Guess somebody is already one step ahead of me. :) DiabloVT007, I also wanted to say that I appreciate how you've honored the military with your rides. Many of my friends are in Afghanistan or have been there. As for me, I'm in the Navy, so I guess you could say my other ride has more Tomahawk cruise missiles than your car has nuts and bolts. Don't know about everybody else, but I'm still praying that one of them lands on Osama. Anyway, I don't know if you have ever personally served, but either way thanks for your support. It's amazing how something so small can mean so much when you've been away from home for so long...

DiabloVT007 - Would it still be legal if there was any blue or red lights because I know just about everywhere any kind of blue or red lights on the outside is illegal, even if it's just little neons.

"GTwildFIRE" it is easily done with the LumaBrite technology... Goto http://www.boomerangmg.com/pages/products/featured-products/uppercut.html Which is using LumaBrite to do that vehicle..

I don't think this works like fiber optics. This would have to be an electrically luminescent membrane technology. It's not exactly a new technology, luminescent pinstriping has been around for years, but this would take it to a whole new level. Eventually, I expect that a flexible, elastic membrane display technology (probably already being researched and/or developed) could lead to active camouflage systems, and trickle down to active display wraps for vehicles. Even with this technology, the advertisment possibilities are huge... expect to see this on city busses for sure. My concern is the cost for custom wraps for personal vehicles, this gotta be expensive if someone wants a whole-car wrap. One thing is for certain though... come up with some popular illuminated decals (like the Firebird's screaming chicken) and put them on Ebay and they will sell like hotcakes.

GTwildfire, it's about $4500-$6000 depending on size of vehicle for a full wrap with this technology!!!! The ROI would be huge for a commerical application
