Check out this cool time-lapse video of the crew at NorthWest Auto Salon applying a full matte black wrap to an F430 Scuderia. Are you happy with the results?

Great video, but I don't really get the whole wrap thing, especially on an exotic. Why cover up that beautiful Italian paint job?

That was some good work, I personally like the wrap idea. Keeps that original paint in tact while giving you a whole new look. And I also noticed it was winter, maybe they wrapped it to keep the paint safe so they can still drive it?

Wrap vs custom paint is thousands cheaper, especially on an exotic... Plus with the wrap, you can take it off the basically the same day without affecting the paint. I like it!

The wrap makes sense in the fact that you can color the car in any hue you want while preserving and protecting factory paint, specially for people who sale the car.

wow, boy I wish I had that kind of skill.... that looks awesome. And it doesn't scratch and it can be removed. As long as it doesn't peel. But those guys are good, they even have the yellow stripes.

You might think that a Ferrari would come with beautiful paint from the factory, but check out this writeup of a brand new Ferrari 458: http://www.northwestautosalon.com/2010/10/red-ferrari-458-italia-brand-new-car-detail/

NW_Auto I knew I wasn't the only that noticed that the paint had the orange peel thing going on. I've seen a bunch of documentaries of the cars being made and when they show the final product under artificial light (studio shoot) I ALWAYS see the peel effect right after they say "They go to great lengths to get the perfect paint"
