Are you ever bugged by the sight of a vehicle with just plain stupid mods on it? Like a ton of Autozone plastic-chrome or cheap eBay junk on it? I'm not talking about a type of "car culture" that you're not into, I'm more talking about the kind of stuff that makes you think the owner is on drugs.
The reason I'm posting this is because I first saw a 10th Generation ('89-'97) Ford Thunderbird a few years ago with just "chrome" wing-dings stuck to it. But now, each time I see it I swear it seems to have more crap on it than it had the last time. In fact, I most recently saw it yesterday and it seemed to have sprouted a cheap oversized "ricer"-style Boeing 747 wing out the back. What's worse, everything on it is installed so half-assed as to make already garbagey parts look even worse.
The car isn't mine and I know I can't tell someone what they should do with their money. But you need to draw a line somewhere. The picture below isn't the car I'm talking about of course (still hoping to get a chance to photograph that T-Bird), but it's definitely along the same lines.

By: 66Mope 11/8/2010 11:05 AM The funny thing is that even stupid mods aren't cheap... |
By: usnrocker 11/8/2010 11:55 AM yeah stupid mods are far from cheap.... like 15-20 bucks for a set of port holes.... all them little letters are 5 bucks a pop... but yeah i see all the stupid mods here in an army town... anywhere from riced out everything to the infamous YooHoo donk |

By: cknarf 11/8/2010 1:30 PM "chrome" trim. Ya know, the stuff old people trace EVERY crease with? What the fuck? |
By: SouthernGuy8503 11/8/2010 1:42 PM cknarf - What I meant by "chrome" trim was that fake stick on stuff people put around the windows and door edges. Not talking about actual metal chrome trim on cars that actually looked good ro decent with it, like classic cars and other cars up to the 80s. Basically I say if it has a plastic bumper cover and not a real metal bumper then it doesn't look right with chrome stick on trim all over it. |

By: cknarf 11/8/2010 2:45 PM No, I got you the first time. The plastic 'chrome' people line the door edges with nowadays. Its terrible! I LOVE the loads of chrome on classics, 'cause it looks right. Now chrome strips on a taurus? No. HELL no. |

By: iroczguy15 11/8/2010 3:02 PM sooo stupid i see ricers with the gay spoilers on the back and coffee cans all the time. people seriously need to spend more time in there cars making them look respectable. the car in the pic would look perfectly fine with just those rims but he had to screw it up with the rest of the crap. |
By: FRSGUMP 11/8/2010 3:43 PM I love chrome, and wished the "real" stuff would return, but this chrome-plated plastic crap is rediculous. Another attention whore. LOOK AT ME !!! LOOK AT ME !!! |

By: retroman 11/8/2010 5:29 PM The gay purple tint job on my Fiero. The previous owner did it himself and it showed. I had it removed today though thankfully. He also installed what I like to call a "hot air intake". It's like a cold air intake, except he put it in the hottest part of the engine compartment and didn't bother to seal it off. I have plans to remove that very soon along with the one remaining ricer boy sticker I have left. |

By: ___nes___ 11/8/2010 5:46 PM Oh got one. Just saw a couple of days ago a brown '04 Altima with the chrome trim around all of the door, all of the windows, wheel wells, back bumper, front bumper, fake port holes and a caddy style soft top. |

By: retroman 11/9/2010 4:51 PM I used to pass by this Vette everyday. It had bull horns strapped down on the hood and horseshoes and lassos on the doors. I'm not talking graphics either. This guy had the real deal clinging to that poor Vette. It was also chromed way beyond reason too. |
